Dance in education is many wonderful things wrapped up together – music, community, exercise, technique, and aspiring to excellence. Partnering with New York City’s National Dance Institute, we intend bring dance to the 4th grade of all of Harrisburg City’s public schools and to build facilities for dance in both the Heights and the Flats.
Harrisburg City’s children will have the possibility to learn an instrument for free in a group settings throughout the neighborhoods of Harrisburg City.
Incorporating the famed “El Sistema” program, children will meet after school to not only learn to play their instrument, but will learn social responsibility, respect for one’s self and for others, and to strive for excellence in all areas of life.
The Jazz League is intended to be a place where musicians can live and thrive in Harrisburg. We will create steady jazz gigs “in house”. They can tour throughout the state and represent Harrisburg City as the next generation of jazz players.
Dance and Movement classes for Adults with Parkinson’s Disease will be offered throughout the Mid State with our trained dance faculty and our in-house, live pianist. Starting in October of 2024 in Hummeslwtown, we are affiliated with the Mark Morris Dance Group and are being trained through their program “Dance for PD”.
Harriburg Congregations will join together in our first choir “Sing-Off” on March 8 at the Forum Auditorium. Who are our fellow residents of Harrisburg? On March 8 come find out! If your church wants to participate, contact us!
